We have officially broken ground on our latest development in Launton, Oxfordshire – a new community of 65 homes designed and built to be Better than Net Zero.
Located on Station Road, the 5.8-acre site will deliver a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes. Each property is built using natural, low-impact materials and designed to achieve ultra-low embodied carbon, while generating as much energy as it consumes over the course of a year.
Our EPC-A rated homes will incorporate optimal solar PV panels, renewable energy systems and are built to Passivhaus standards. This combination ensures healthy, comfortable living spaces with minimal running costs and a dramatically reduced environmental footprint.
Working in partnership with A’Bear and Ball Architects and Edge Urban Design, we are also delivering significant benefits for local biodiversity. Large areas of woodland will be preserved and enhanced, alongside new walking routes, public green spaces and measures to deliver a projected 23% biodiversity net gain compared with the previous farmland.
Laura Stone, our COO, said:
“At Greencore Homes, we’re not just building houses, we’re setting a new standard for sustainable living. Our development at Station Road in Launton exemplifies our commitment to delivering Better Than Net Zero homes that combine optimal renewable energy systems with natural, low-impact materials. These homes are designed to be healthy, comfortable, and cost-effective for residents, while contributing meaningfully to the transition toward a zero-carbon future.”
The homes are set within the historic village of Launton, recorded in the Domesday Book and today home to a thriving community with local pubs, a coffee shop, primary school, Post Office, church and village hall. The village is just 10 minutes from Bicester and its excellent transport links, including a direct train to London Marylebone in under an hour.
The first homes at Station Road, Launton, are expected to be ready by Autumn 2026.
