We were delighted to welcome Angela Rayner, Deputy Prime Minister and Housing Secretary, to The Canopies—our site at Milton Heights—for the launch of a major new support package for SME housebuilders.
This wide-ranging initiative will help unlock smaller sites, streamline planning, and accelerate the delivery of high-quality homes. It’s a vote of confidence in the SME builders who train 80% of construction apprentices and bring vital innovation to the sector.
The Deputy PM chose to make the announcement from a live Greencore site, recognising our role in pioneering sustainable development as a modern SME housebuilder.
Angela Rayner said:
“It is fantastic to see Greencore Homes leading the charge in building high-quality and affordable homes in this part of Oxfordshire.
I want to see even more smaller housebuilders play a critical role in helping us deliver 1.5 million homes, and today’s support package shows this government is backing them to build.”
Jon Di-Stefano, CEO of Greencore Homes, said:
“Simplifying the planning process and introducing more targeted land and funding opportunities for SME housebuilders will have a transformative effect for housing delivery—not just in terms of volume but quality and sustainability too.”
A huge thank you to CORINIUM CARPENTRY LTD, Agetur UK Limited, Aspire Scaffolding, Breckon & Breckon, and HTA Design LLP for helping us present the site at its best. Your hard work made the visit a great success.
We’re proud to be part of a movement that’s building not just more homes—but better homes.
